Understanding Your Coverage Choices
Note: Your actual policy contract contains your actual coverage. The information below is only a guide.
Bodily Injury / Property Damage LiabilityThis is the most important coverage. It protects you against possible financial disaster if you cause injuries to other drivers and their passengers or others property.
Ohio's state minimum liability limits are 12.5/25/7.5 This means that each injured person is covered up to $12,500 and the most that will be paid to all injured persons is $25,000, and $7,500 for property damage to others per incident. (Note: There is a very good chance that this will NOT be enough coverage in the event of an accident)
We offer up to 250/500/100 for split limits or 500 CSL (Combined Single Limit means you have one blanket of coverage to be used up however the damages divide per accident, 500 CSL means you have $500,000 in coverage per incident).
For an added layer of liability protection & security you can add a Personal Umbrella policy. Umbrella policies are available from 1 million in extra coverage and up. A 1 million personal umbrella policy would add an extra layer of coverage over and above your auto and home liability limits. In general for 2 cars and 1 home you may have an est. premium of only $150 / year for this added protection.
Medical Payments
Regardless of fault, this coverage pays medical costs for you, your passengers injured in your car and for your family members injured in any car.
Uninsured/Under-insured Motorists – Bodily Injury
This coverage pays you the amount you are legally entitled to recover for injuries to you, family members and other passengers in your auto caused by hit-and-run drivers, by drivers without (or with insufficient) coverage, and by drivers denied coverage by their insurers.
NOTE: You can purchase up to the limits of your Bodily Injury Liability on your policy
Uninsured Motorists – Property Damage (UMPD)
If you car gets damaged by a driver without insurance, this coverage will pay to fix your vehicle. Limits very by company, usually they will pay up to $7,500 with a $250 deductible. Other than Collision or Comprehensive
This broad coverage pays (minus your deductible) for a wide range of non-collision losses to your car. Theft, glass breakage, vandalism, fire, flood, explosion, riot, hall, windstorm, and falling objects are covered, as well as hitting a deer or any other animal and a host of other situations that could occur during your everyday drives.
Note: Collision coverage is not required on your vehicle in order to purchase this coverage

This coverage will pay to rent a car while yours is being repaired after a covered loss. This feature also applies if your car is stolen. You must carry Collision and Other than Collision in order to obtain this coverage. This coverage is offered per day/per incident. Usually $20/$600, $30/$900, or $40/$1200.
Towing and Labor / Roadside Assistance
You may add this popular roadside assistance coverage to your policy if you carry Collision and Other than Collision coverages. This coverage is usually available in $50 or $75 coverage per incident or it may be a sign/drive program.
Loan/Lease gap
In the event of a total loss, this coverage provides payment if the actual cash value of your vehicle is less than the amount you owe on the original lease or loan. There may be a 25% cap on how much a company will pay based on the actual cash value of your vehicle at the time of loss.
